The charts give information on the mainreasons for study among students of different ages and the amount of supportthey received from employers.

We can see immediately that the biggestdifference is among the youngest students under 26, where the students studyfor career account for 80%, compared with only 10% of the students study forinterest. And for the students between 26 and 29, students study for careerclearly outnumbered students study for interest (about 69% and 15%,respectively). But students between 40 and 49 study for these two reasonsaccount for the same proportion at about 40%. By contrast, much more studentsstudy for interest (70%) than those study for career (almost 20%).

The second chart indicates that studentsunder 26 years old are generally more likely to be supported by employers (over60%). And the proportion of students between 26 and 29 ranks second withapproximately 50%. The percentage of students over 49 comes next in third withabout 45%. Students between 30 and 39 have the least chance to be supported by theiremployers with about only 35%.

Overall, the first chart suggests thatyounger people tend to study for career while older people choose to study forinterest. The second chart indicates that employers favor the younger and olderones rather than the middle-aged in terms of time off or help with fees.
